Soto Park Rangers introduces football to boys and girls, from the ages of 5-12 years old. The techniques employed are based around the guidelines that the English F.A. have laid down for Mini-Soccer combined with an introduction to the rules of Futbol-sala in Spain.
The aim is to make the learning process a fun and rewarding experience.
Kevin has been coaching football to children since 2001. He has taken the 1st4Sport Level One Award in Coaching Football which also involves First Aid and Child Protection.
Kevin arrived in Spain in 2003 and since that time he has worked as football coach and P.E. teacher at Laude The Lady Elizabeth School. He started coaching at Sol Park Tennis Club, Moraira, Alicante the same year, originally as 3Lions Soccer Coaching.
Kevin has organised and accompanied coaching trips to Chelsea F.C. in 2006 and to A.C.Milan in 2007. He entered and coached three teams in The Costa Blanca Cup in 2005.
In 2004 some of the dads, itching to show their kids what they could do, asked Kevin to organise some football for them and so Sol Park Rangers Vets was born. Regular 5-a-side games and competitions on Sunday and mid-week were organised and still run at the moment.
With Sol Park Rangers and Laude Lady Elizabeth School he managed up to 6 teams in a season across age groups from 6-16, leading one team to league winners no less than 3 years in succession.
Kevin also worked with Openwings Sports Services to bring sports teams of all types and ages to play and train in Spain.
Soto Park Rangers has been very popular with children and parents alike since the first session in early 2012 and we have just started our sixth season and completed our fifth summer camp.
My thanks to everyone who has helped to make the sessions such a success!
Were you a football player, Kevin?
I played for my local team, Billericay Town, in the UK. Can you find me in this photo?
